Ghent, Belgium, April 2, 2026 – United Petfood, international pet food manufacturer, announced today it has purchased the Jupiter production facility in Drummondville, Quebec from Legault Group. This purchase represents a landmark moment for United Petfood as it marks the company’s first dry manufacturing plant in Canada.
United Petfood has long been a prominent player in the pet food industry through its extensive export activities. This strategic move to establish local production in Canada, not geographically far from the dry production site in the U.S., signifies a pivotal step in solidifying its presence in this key market.
"We are thrilled to integrate Jupiter into the United Petfood family. This acquisition allows us to better serve our customers with locally produced, high-quality pet food “ states Dominiek Dumoulin, United Petfood Group President.
“The factory is very well invested with the newest petfood production technology and offers possibilities for further expansion. We continue to see interesting opportunities for growth in both the Canadian market and internationally”, says Dries Eeckhout, United Petfood Group CEO.
Jupiter, a state-of-the-art facility located in Drummondville, Quebec, began operations in 2023. It develops and manufactures several lines of dry pet food using high-quality ingredients.
